Understanding the Concept

Microsoft Intune supports multiple device enrollment methods to accommodate different scenarios. For Windows devices: Azure AD Join during OOBE, bulk enrollment using provisioning packages, Autopilot enrollment, co-management enrollment with SCCM, and Group Policy-triggered enrollment for hybrid Azure AD joined devices.

For mobile devices: iOS enrollment uses Apple Business Manager (ABM) with Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) for corporate devices, or Company Portal app for BYOD. Android supports Android Enterprise enrollment modes: Fully Managed, Dedicated (kiosk), Corporate-Owned Work Profile, and Personally-Owned Work Profile.

Enrollment restrictions allow administrators to control which devices can enroll. Platform restrictions limit enrollment by OS type and version. Device limit restrictions control how many devices each user can enroll. Device type restrictions can block personal devices.
